Alumni Council News October 2016 Clarke

Dear Fellow 1960's:

It's autumn again, and soon I will return to the College to attend the 213th meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Council. I'm reaching out now because I want to know if you have questions or ideas about Dartmouth as it begins a new academic year. If you do, please send them my way.

The meeting will include:

  • A presentation by President Philip J. Hanlon '77 and Michael Mastunduno, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and a chance to ask questions.
  • An update from members of the Board of Trustees.
  • The chance to learn about the new residential house communities that were launched this fall.
  • Conversations with leaders of alumni affiliated groups.
  • A discussion about the diversity of political thought in America and at Dartmouth from faculty members Andrew SamwickSonu Bedi, and Leslie Butler.
  • A celebration in honor of this year's Alumni Award winners.

In case you are not familiar with the Alumni Council, we are a group of alumni made up of representatives from the different alumni constituencies. We act as a liaison between the alumni body and the Board of Trustees of the College - but, in particular, we travel to Hanover twice each year to listen, learn, and share what we've heard from you. We discuss all issues pertaining to Dartmouth, and I'll report back to you after the meetings what I have learned.

If you have questions which you would like me to ask, please send them to me by replying to this email.

Best wishes,

Bruce Clark, your Alumni Council Representative
